Russikon, Pfaeffikon and Zurich

So, after the trip of a lifetime in Norway, and of course so many other gorgeous places, here I am back in Russikon at Trudi's beautiful home in the hills. After a lot of cold weather and rain, the pool is only 20 degrees, compared to the 34 degrees tepid water before I left!

It was time to relax and unwind, catch up on sleep and visit those special places which were undoubtedly my 'happy places' when I lived in Pfaeffikon.
The beautiful Pfaeffikersee with its easy 9.5 kilometer walk around it.
To my delight, there were two storks on the nest. They could be young from this year. I had seen four in neighboring fields.
I just decided to head to one of my favorite places, Jucker Farm. It was lovely to walk up the avenue of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.
And, of course, to enjoy the fabulous view over the Pfaeffiker lake and Zurich Oberland
As I returned, the sky had the loveliest clouds, like little balls of cotton wool, over the moored yachts.
Time to reminisce as I passed my picturesque little home of about 4 years. How I loved it there, despite the frequent bell ringing!
A stay here doesn't seem quite right without a visit to Zurich, such a beautiful city, especially in perfect weather.
I  I spent a while at Lindenhof, above the Aare, enjoying the shade of the mature trees, but most of all inwardly laughing at the selfie-taking tourists and all their poses! How many photos do they need, I asked myself?

As I was about to meet up with a previous Airbnb guest on the boat, some dramatic black clouds suddenly appeared. What phenomenal contrast with the blue sky and water.
It's hard to see, but I was so amazed that someone was cleaning the railings with a feather duster! They must be short of work for him.
The boat trip was great, but extremely busy and noisy - mainly tired children screaming! However, still not enough to distract me from the sensational clouds which were forming above us.
Home safe and sound, without a drop of rain. Amazing! The sunset was really more magical than this photo shows.
Next day I had a wonderful day visiting three different sets of friends. I am so happy to have friends in so many places in Europe.
A farewell BBQ with Marco, one of my longterm best friends in Switzerland, his partner Loic and Trudi, was perfectly ended with a glorious full moon and clear skies.
Time to leave, and what better send off than a large poster of Stan Wawrinka rather than the previous Federer posters!
Great flight with brilliant movies - Ballad of Wallace Island, Nonnas and Burton. All went well till landing, when we were nearly down and then the plane suddenly revved up and up we went again. The captain, some minutes later, made an interesting statement, saying’ as some of you may have noticed, we were unable to land’. Apparently due to a plane on the runway. It was a bit unsettling, but could have been an awful lot worse.
It seems a long time ago, and yet time has flown, since I was here by the pool at the start of this unbelievable journey. Lots of water under the bridge, literally! Water has featured a huge amount in this trip. Now really looking forward to seeing Mark and David, friends, and of course Big Mike!
