Myvatn to Akureyri
This will be a very short blog today as we covered only 100 kilometres and spent much of that time driving through wet and wintery weather, with temperatures around 6 degrees. Forecast was for snow where we stopped to see Goda Foss. I had visited before on a fine day but nevertheless wanted to walk up on the other side of the river despite the steady rain. It was actually fine going up, and I really enjoyed looking at the falls hurtling down into the river below, but going back was a different story, with biting hail coming from the river side. Not in the slightest bit pleasant and a real soaking! By the time I arrived back at the cafe where I had left Trudi, I was drenched! Never mind. It is easy to strip off and start again. Great they now have such fantastic new toilets there. I loved the signs. Not sure I saw anyone matching the looks of the sculptures entering either of the toilet areas!
