Final day of Hurtigruten, back to Bergen

The last time I will see the flag being raised on this trip. How sad!

As we left Floro early in the morning, we passed the fantastic Stabben lighthouse.
I spent virtually the rest of the trip on deck, savouring every last moment of this incredible journey.
The final hours were largely devoted to travelling along the magnificent Sognefjord, Norway’s longest and widest fjord.
As we glided past hills, islands and pretty hamlets, we were treated to 30 minutes of classical music, perfectly chosen to suit the scenery - soft, gentle music for the delicate areas and loud booming music for hills and cliffs. It was a truly magical experience

We sailed under a bridge under construction. 1.3 billion Norwegian kroner, 227,579,300.00 Dollars! More amazing is that it is linking up with an island of only 123 inhabitants!
A sad moment as I went to check on the jigsaw I had occasionally struggled with and nearly finished. A young boy had taken most of it apart!
Never mind, there were much more beautiful things to think about as we sailed down the Hjeltefjord into Bergen.
A beautiful day, just as it had been when we left. We passed a ship heading north. I hope they have the same experience we have had.
It has, without any doubt, been the most memorable, beautiful trip I have ever taken. Thank you to all the team at Hurtigruten, the friends I have made and those I knew already, and of course finally to the unbelievably beautiful coasts of Norway!
Back in Bergen, I wasted no time getting out and about. It was incredible to walk in the park there - so lush and green
I looked down on the pool I had photographed just a while before (3 photos ago)
And spent a good while staring at the Nordkapp, imagining how hectic it must be on board now, as they rush to get ready for a new group of keen travellers.
A proud nation, and rightly so!
Bergen, the rainy city, with 230 days a year of rain, has always been sunny when I have visited!
Back to the pretty little lanes and colourful houses
And to that phenomenal view over the coloured houses of Bryggen, with the Floyen cable car behind them
What a lovely, restful place this is

Even McDonalds is quite glamorous!
Happiest memories!
