Home sweet Home

After five months away, I was expecting a very cool reception from Mike, but instead he seemed super happy and relaxed, didn't want to leave my side. It was so good to have him With me..
The garden was simply gorgeous with all the blossom. Mike didn't appreciate being disturbed by the blossom showering him with every gust of wind!
The cherry blossom along Harper Ave, the main road into the city, was magnificent, attracting thousands at the weekend, but fortunately fewer during the week.

Everyone was so busy photographing the cherry blossom that they overlooked the fabulous kowhai trees, native to NZ and quite iconic. The bluebell woods in Little Hagley aren't visited by many and yet they are really gorgeous. They remind me of England.
The Botanical gardens are so beautiful, especially the wonderful NZ section, where it's hard to believe that you are virtually in the centre of the city.
Only minutes away from the centre is another favourite, Brighton beach. Whether going for a walk along Brighton Spit
Or having a quick stroll close to our fantastic hot pools, He Puna Taimoana, the beach never fails to take my breath away.
The pier, totally different to those I saw in Europe, leads you into the ocean. No fun arcades or stalls selling candyfloss, just jawdroppingly spectacular views.
What a magical place Christchurch is. I've really had a fantastic five- month trip away, but I am finally feeling at home again, and what a perfect home!
