Eastbourne, Rothesay tournament

Wow, what a fantastic first day en route to Eastbourne and the first day looking around..if I could have chosen someone I wanted to meet, it would have been Cam Norrie, a Kiwi, GB player. So, when I sat down in the train at Gatwick and looked closely at the handsome young man with a small grey streak in his fringe, I felt like shouting with joy.
Cam and I had a good conversation and now I really hope to be able to watch him in action.
My hotel is on the Esplanade so I can see the beach from my window. It's a truly stunning long stretch of beach, apparently one of the cleanest beaches in Britain.
The pier is 150 years old, with amusement hall, bars, restaurants and even a theatre.
I enjoyed half an hour of music and people watching.
It had been really hot in the afternoon, so it was wonderful walking in the cool evening air. The crowds had gone and the beaches more or less empty.
Believe it or not, I have not altered any of the photos. The sea and sky were just an incredible blue.
Time to head to the Italian restaurant for a scrumptious meal and an Aperol spritz!
My spinach and ricotta Cannelloni was perfect.
