London
What an amazing time to be in London, as millions come together to show their respects to the longest- reigning British queen, Elizabeth II. It was incredible to join the almost silent tens of thousands who filed firstly past the majestic Buckingham Palace, where the new King was grieving the loss of his beloved Mama, whilst having to meet leaders from around the world,

Memories flooded back of that sad day in Christchurch, when I visited the floral tribute to those killed or injured in the Mosque shootings. Both such sad occasions, with a genuine outpouring of grief.

The setting for the Floral Tribute was so perfect - tranquil, fresh and stunningly beautiful.

I felt for the family behind these locked gates. It must be so hard to lose someone you love and not be able to escape the public gaze.

Monday, 18th September, the State Funeral, will be an unforgettable day.
We then continued en masse, in a very orderly queue to the nearby Green Park to view the breathtaking sea of flowers and messages to the Queen and Royal Family. What a lovely place to stand and feel the emotions of the nation, young and old. Reading the heartfelt messages certainly tugged at the heartstrings. Some made me cry, others made me laugh. There was a sombre feeling and whether you were British, from the Commonwealth or from elsewhere, we had a common bond - a huge respect for a hard- working lady, who had dedicated herself to her country. It was a very special afternoon for me and also for Trudi, who had just arrived in England for our trip the next day.
