Bergen to Oslo and arrival in Oslo

The free spirit is on the move again! New adventures!
The photos in this blog are unfortunately taken through the window of the train Bergen to Oslo. This never gives perfect photos, but at least a lasting memory of some of the many spectacular highlights.

The highest point, 1,200 metres above sea level, and below, Norway’s second largest glacier

After 7.5 hours of stunning, ever changing scenery, we arrived in Oslo, the capital of Norway.
I realised as I set out to stretch my legs, just how tired I was. Those days of very short sleeps and all the standing and watching had taken their toll.
I got as far as the port, and that’s where I stayed!
It was a beautiful evening
And I could enjoy the setting sun - much earlier than I was used to of course -
I had some immediate first impressions. So many scooters - and they drive like maniacs, weaving in and out of the crowds!
Beautiful, manicured gardens, but sadly lots of rubbish on the lawns. I would like to blame the gulls, but think takeaways and laziness are probably more to blame!
However, they have some great ideas to stop people putting recyclables in the bin. It’s also great for the poorer people who go around collecting plastic bottles and cans to get the deposit back on them.
So, the end of my first day after the trip on board. It’s so strange to have to plan and research again!
